Water safety equipment includes everything from survival and rescue suits used by the coast guard and other water traffic officials and first responder units to water rescue equipment such as life preservers found on every boat and sailing vessel. Life jackets, otherwise known as PFD’s or personal floatation devices also keep watercraft users and first responders safe and should be worn at all times when on the water. Orange is the most widely recognized color for all water safety equipment, however other colors such as yellow and white are also standard.
